I've been meaning to write....

I keep meaning to write an entry here. Twice I've tried about different things but both entries will most likely stay drafts forever. There is either nothing to write about or too much to write about. I used to love writing. I would write all the time growing up. There were always stories and adventures going on in my head that just craved to come out. Conversations with characters who only existed in my mind kept that mind very busy. Really, the only way to feel sane and relaxed was to write everything down. That way the characters, places, and story lines still existed and it gave my thoughts a rest. I think writing then was much easier. Maybe I'm out of practice.

Rain and imagination

There is something about staying up late during a rain storm that excites me and relaxes me at the same time. I love the quiet. Two in the morning is a time (usually) where most people are asleep and dreaming. TVs and computers are turned off, work is put away, nothing more has to be done. It is the time where I can sit in my room in silence knowing I will not be interrupted. No one will knock on my door, no one will talk/yell outside my room. There is just me. Me and my room.

This sound, silence, is like standing in a forest, surrounded only by trees, dirt, and shrubbery...and of course the occasional animal. It is the silence of the wind rustling the leaves and the sounds of life living. This is the time where anything is possible...in my imagination. Characters are created, adventures are starting, worlds are discovered. Right now is the time to live in the nature of this world while imaging a new one. In no way or form is this escaping or being ungrateful for what is around me...but rather embracing this thing called: imagination. Why have one if not to use it? To not would be such a horrible waste.
